The Company is aware of the importance of personal information and endeavours to ensure its protection through the measures outlined below.

The Company has put regulations in place regarding the handling of information that can be used to identify specific individuals (hereinafter referred to as "personal information"), established an organizational framework for managing personal information, and otherwise strives to protect personal information in an appropriate manner.

When acquiring personal information from individuals, the Company acquires personal information that is within the scope required, subject to notifying the individuals concerned of the purpose of use and the appropriate person to contact at the Company for subsequent inquiries.

The Company uses personal information only for the specified purpose of use, manages personal information in an appropriate manner, and does not disclose or provide personal information to a third party without the consent of the customer, except in special circumstances.

In the event that the Company outsources the processing of personal information to a contractor, the Company binds an agreement with the contractor legally obligating it to ensure that the personal information provided by the Company is not leaked or divulged to another party, and carries out adequate supervision to ensure that the contractor meets its obligations.

The Company enforces strict management procedures and only use personal information provided by the outsourcer within the scope agreed upon in the agreement.

If you wish to check or make amendments to your personal information, please contact the Company and we will respond promptly to any requests, within reason.

The Company complies with all laws, ordinances and guidelines set forth in relation to the protection of personal information. In addition, the Company endeavours to maintain and improve upon efforts to properly protect all personal information in its care.

Purpose of Use

The Company sometimes requires individuals to provide their personal information in order to respond to questions or requests from customers, to send catalogues or other materials as requested, to implement questionnaires for research purposes and to accept entries for promotional campaigns.

In such cases, the Company uses the personal information acquired to respond to or contact customers, to send out campaign prizes or to fulfil the purpose otherwise specified at the time the personal information was acquired.

The names, email addresses and departments of Directors belonging to corporations and other groups may be used as contact information for executing agreements between the Company and the group concerned, for getting in contact for business purposes, for making proposals or presenting information with regard to the products and services offered by the Company, and for providing information deemed to be beneficial for the group concerned.

Disclosure of Personal Information to Contractors

To ensure smooth operations, the Company may outsource part of its operations to contractors and provide these contractors with the personal information needed for them to perform their work.

In such cases, the Company only selects contractors that meet stringent criteria, binds an agreement in relation to the handling of personal information and supervises proper compliance with the said agreement.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Company manages personal information acquired from customers in an appropriate manner and does not provide it to a third party, except in the following cases.

・When the consent of the customer has been obtained
・When required by law
・When required for the protection of human life, avoidance of injury or safeguarding of assets, and when obtaining the customer's consent would be difficult
・When particularly needed for the improvement of public health or for maintenance of the sound development of children, and when obtaining the customer's consent would be difficult
・When required to cooperate with the lawful activities of a national agency, local government organization or a person or organization entrusted with such a task, and when obtaining the customer's consent would interfere with, or be likely to interfere with, the carrying out of such activities

Stance toward Requests for Disclosure

The Company does its best to comply with requests to check or amend the registered information of customers who have used a Taihei product or service.

Reasons for Non-Disclosure of Personal Data

The Company reserves the right to refuse disclosure in the following circumstances:

・When the requesting person's identity cannot be confirmed in the course of set procedures or questioning
・When an agent makes a request and the agent's power of representation cannot be confirmed
・When the information requested does not fall within the definition of personal data
・When the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the requesting person or a third party may be damaged
・When the appropriate execution of the Company's business may be significantly impeded
・When laws and ordinances will be violated

Note that the Company does not presently belong to any certified personal information protection groups.

User Access Logs

The Company's website records the information of users who have accessed the site in the form of an access log. It contains the domain names, IP addresses, web browsers and access dates of those accessing the site, and does not contain any information that can normally be used to identify an individual.

The access log is used solely for maintenance and administration of the website and for website access analysis. It will never be used for any other purpose.

※The Company recommends that you periodically check its Privacy Policy as amendments may be made to ensure better protection of customers' personal information or to comply with the enactment or amendment of laws and ordinances.

Amendments to the Privacy Policy shall apply from December 1, 2007 onward, the date that this Privacy Policy was posted on the Company website.
